Top Five Fridays: The Crayon Case

We all know the struggles when it comes to finding makeup brands that fit our needs and skin tones as black women. Raynell Stewart aka Supa Cent, owner of the cosmetics company, The Crayon Case is our featured brand for this week’s Top Five Fridays. If anybody remembers those vine days, you should remember her, and if you didn’t have a vine account I’m sure you’ve seen her videos on social media at some point. During a recent interview with Professional Black Girl, the New Orleans native explained how she wanted to be more than just an internet sensation. She sold bounce music tapes and t-shirts before she found her footing in the cosmetic industry. Also, she elaborated on how she would incorporate live tutorials (via Instagram). Although she wasn’t skilled as a professional MUA, she noticed a demand amongst her audience, and her platform was the best way for her to start it. Talk about a hustler’s mentality! What I love most about being apart of this New-Era ‘Black Renaissance’ is the number of products being launched for us (Black women). That said, let’s get into it!
