Hey, Style Mavens!

At this point, we have recognized that almost everything in our society from beauty standards to medical conditions are surrounded by whiteness, even if the white person is imitating black features. Which includes the lack of true representation when trying to find tones to compliment our skin the best. Salone Monet, owner of the footwear line Salone Monet, had a different narrative for the common “nude shoe!”

First of all, with a name like Salone Monet you have to be destined for something chic. With a degree in Public Relations, focusing on politics, she was naturally born with the gift of problem-solving and helping others. So what about these shoes, you ask? They are living proof that nude is not a color!! Her shoes come in 6 astonishing shades that complements our ever so glowing melanated skin! The shoes are made in Italy, a satin signature fabric with a signature platform to add more comfort. Talk about a long-lasting shoe!
During her podcast interview on Fashion Alumni Podcast with Dr. Melissa Manuel, she mentioned that she worked at a boutique in D.C. One day, she was given the task of assisting a client with a nude shoe, she then realized that so many women in the workforce needed a true nude shoe. Nude heels are essential to everyone’s closet, and honestly, it’s one of those essentials some never think about when discussing tones. What is even more amazing is that the shoe line goddess is focusing her energy on uplifting women of color. In the interview I mentioned previously, Monet stated that her goal is to eventually create a supply chain that is directly supporting women of color. Salone Monet has been worn on celebrities like Beyonce, Tracee Ellis Ross, Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle, and more. Let’s get into it, Style Mavens!
