Row A Seat 1: When did you fall in love with fashion?
Omar Parkman: I first fell in love with fashion at the age of 17 around my junior year of high school. I began experimenting with various looks trying to find my own individual style.
Row A Seat 1: My personal style is unique because…
Omar Parkman: I think my style is unique because it’s versatile. I can rock streetwear one day, classic the next or casual. There are many sides to my style and each stands out in its own way.
Row A Seat 1: Who are your favorite designers? Why?
Omar Parkman: My favorites are Gucci, Alexander McQueen, and Lolu. Each of these designers brings innovative designs to the fashion world. From unique embroidering to craftsmanship, and colors that pop to timeless pieces. I love it all! I would love to model for each designer one day.
The last thing I googled was… The new Gucci collection!
I am currently listening to… Drake and Party Next Door. These are my favorite artists!
Name the one person you’d love to meet… P. Diddy.
My favorite places to shop… Zara, H&M, thrift shops, and online stores like Etsy.
The best thing about me is… My personality. I can get along with almost everybody I come in contact with. I’m very outgoing and exuberant.
Style vs Fashion is… Fashion is a trend, and style is forever. Fashion has rules and style is freer. Fashion is business, style is both pleasure and personal.
My 2018 will be… Epic! Nothing, but success!
Row A Seat 1: I am inspired by…
Omar Parkman: I am inspired by different regions and time eras. I love European cuts and tailoring, but I also love African prints. I love the influence of music in fashion as well. Those things inspire me to become more creative in my styling, and modeling.
Row A Seat 1: The most valuable advice I’ve received about life…
Omar Parkman: Here’s one of my favorites, “our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” – Nelson Mandela
