Agency: Freelance Model
Choosing the perfect candidate for ‘Fresh Off The Runway’ is always interesting, especially when you get into the behind-the-scenes portion of these beautiful canvases. Possessing multiple talents is a definite way to get further in any career, not to mention in the world of modeling. This Atlanta-born sweetheart, Rebekah Wilson is nothing short of pure talent, and since her childhood years she’s been trained to sing, dance, model and quite naturally her acting skills came easy.
Clearly not just another beautiful model, according to her gal pals, Rebekah is also known to throw down in the kitchen with a mean pot of homemade chilli. But, besides her ‘love for cooking for people’ and a self-proclaimed ‘hair care professional,’ she’ll also drop a few jaws while ripping various runways or posing for Ad campaigns. Don’t be surprised if you see Rebekah’s beautiful face gracing the box of a certain hair care product company (Read about deets below).
Row A Seat 1 chats it up with the gorgeous sweetheart Rebekah Wilson as she tells us about her modeling experience during NYFW September 2013, her ideal photo shoot and which runway divas are her favorite … Get ready, the show is about to start!
Rebekah Wilson: I fell in love with all things fabulous at the age of 7. I can remember I used to watch my mother get dressed before work. I saw her as my own personal life size Barbie. She wore everything from Fendi hand bags, Prada shoes, Chanel lipstick, Burberry scarves to Escada fragrance. She was the most glamorous woman in the world to me, the epitome of fashion and style and I wanted to be just like her. My Mom also had a way with a camera… I knew then I wanted to model.
Row A Seat 1: Who is Rebekah Wilson?
Rebekah: Aside from modeling Rebekah Wilson is a woman of great purpose who loves God and people. I’m a nurturer and a home body. I enjoy eating, making people laugh and (believe it or not) cooking for others. I’m genuine, down to earth and easy to talk to. I consider myself loyal, trustworthy and a great friend with a heart of gold. When I love, I love long and hard. I’m an emotional creature who tries very hard not to wear her emotions on her sleeves. Often times, epic fail! LOL!
Row A Seat 1: Besides modeling, what other talents do you possess?
Rebekah: Some people know this about me and some don’t but I love music and I can sing. I’ve always dreamed of being a singer, but was always super shy as a child. I studied Musical Theater and Dance at Columbia College so I’m looking forward to tapping more into my acting skills.I’m also a very talented hair care professional. I don’t refer to myself as a hair stylist because I do more than just “style” hair, I also maintain healthy hair.
Row A Seat 1: Tell us about your proudest moment as a model. What projects are you working on now?
Rebekah: My proudest moment as a model was when I graced the catwalk during NYC Fashion week in September 2013 wearing the most beautiful gown designed by one of the best designers in the world, Ms. Suzette Opara of “828 Collection”. I was so honored to be the chosen model to showcase her gift of talent to the world of fashion on such a large platform. It was truly a monumental moment in time. I was recently contracted as a kit box model for the hair care product company, Bio Care. They are the makers of an at home relaxer kit called “At One with Nature”. Be on the lookout for my face to appear on the relaxer kit box at a drug store/beauty supply near you. (Laughs)
Row A Seat 1: Name your favorite models.
Rebekah: Naomi Campbell, Jessica White, Eva Marcille, Roshumba Williams, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge and Chanel Iman.
Rebekah: My ideal photo shoot would consist of working with a set of super talented professionals (hair and make-up, set director, photographer, stylists/designers and other models) while listening to Beyonce… LOL! Beyonce’s music gives me all the emotions I need (fun, flirty, beautiful, sexy, etc.) to produce a hot shot. I love to have fun on set and get the job done in a timely manner.
Row A Seat 1: Tips for upcoming models.
Rebekah: My tip for other models would be to always believe in yourself, have confidence in your abilities while remaining humble and keeping a positive attitude at all times. Remember, what God has for you is for you and you only.
Row A Seat 1: When I’m modeling I feel …
Rebekah: Free! I feel beautiful and confident. I feel like I’m on top of the world and can achieve anything. Modeling has always been an outlet for me. It’s my favorite way of expressing myself to the world.
