RowASeat1: When did you fall in love with fashion?
Azeez Alayah: Ever since I could style myself while growing up in Nigeria it become common and from there I couldn’t stop putting things together when it came down to clothing.
RowASeat1: As a male model in Chicago, how consistent is work?
AA: Work is everyday, networking my ass off, and connecting with as much people as possible. Photo-shoot are set up every other day, no breaks, especially if you want to reach the top.
RowASeat1: Tell us what inspired you to become a model?
AA: Besides the compliments, my friends and family are a big part of my career. They motivated me to the fullest. After hosting a few fashion shows I took it upon myself to give it a shot. But it was my supporters that brought it out of me.
RowASeat1: What has been your biggest challenge as a model? How did you evolve?
AA: My biggest challenge so far, would be accepting ‘no’ for an answer and continuing to work with the same energy I had before. When it comes down to castings or open calls, sometimes you will hear the work ‘no’ before ‘yes,’ some people break down from it, but I learned to accept it and keep going forward. Why, because the right company awaits me in the future.
RowASeat1: How would you describe your personal style?
AA: I love to be different. I tend to surprise people every time I step out. My style is what defines me.
RowASeat1: Who is your favorite designer? Why?
AA: I love (Polo) Ralph Lauren because there is something about their vibrant style, and the way the clothing is made that tells a story. If you ask me, I have all different colors of (Polo) Ralph Lauren in my closet. I have always been a fan of Ralph Lauren.
RowASeat1: Besides modeling, do you have any hidden talents?
AA: Yes. I am a Hip Hop dancer.
RowASeat1: Which male models do you admire in the industry. Have you learned anything from them that allowed you to upgrade your talents?
AA: Tyson Beckford. I have always looked up to him. I have learned to grind everyday, and to keep pursing what I love until (Polo) Ralph Lauren spots me.
RowASeat1: Name five things you can’t live without.
AA: Definitely food, water, money to buy more clothing, my best friend and love.
RowASeat1: What do you plan to accomplish from the modeling industry?
AA: By the grace of God my plans are to have my face all over the billboards throughout America while modeling for several clothing lines and much more.
